It has now been almost 7 weeks since the tragic fires that ripped through the state of Victoria. The 7th February will go down in history as Black Saturday with tremendous loss of life and the destruction of towns and communities.
Our friends of Betel Australia were located in Marysville and unfortunately suffered tremendous loss through it. Their facilities were totally destroyed and one of their team members was amongst the missing. As I write this today, 7 weeks later, Bian Tan is still listed as missing but inevitably will be identified as one who persihed in the fires at Marysville. Our hearts go out to her family through this horrific event.
This photo was one I took when Bian was travelling with a team I led to India. Bian had a passion to share her life as a Christian and how He is ready to help anyone who calls on His name.
The generosity of the Victorian, and the wider Australian public has been incredible. Money, goods, food, skills of volunteers, have all been donated in huge amounts.
Thank you for your prayers and kind gestures toward the Betel Australia family. The ministry will continue and lives will continue to recieve the love of Christ through their program.
