Back home...and reflecting

It has been a few days now that I've been home and in that time I've begun to reflect on my time away. Meeting new people, experiencing new culture and interacting with men & women from other nations is always something that impacts you.

Lindsay and Myk are folk like that. Working selflessly in a nation that doesn't always appreciate all that they are sacrificing for them. They are wonderful in their love, effort and personal presence for the men and women of Betel. I have had the privelige of spending time with them and their daughters and have discovered a quality of a true servant - sacrifice for others...and they display that in their lives in many ways. Become a supporter of them either financially, in prayer or in personal encouragement.

There is a hunger for God and His presence throughout our world. Many of us may have experienced His presence in our lives but what are we doing with it? Are we hiding it or are we sharing it with those around us, those whom we can touch, those who are also desperately seeking answers to life. I have spent the past few weeks mixing with those who have dedicated their lives to sharing the gospel with the less fortunate of this world. I have been touched by their mercy and at times feel ashamed of the wealth God has given to me through the gift of His Son. What have I done with it...can I do more...obviously I can. My prayer is that my life is "sharpened" and the the dullness of familiarity is filed away by the Holy Spirit and that my eyes and ears are open to see those whom he calls me to.

My prayer as I return is therefore..."Father forgive me for my selfishness and self centredness that has dulled my spitiual senses. Sharpen my focus...give me new spiritual glasses. Help me to see what you are doing around me in the lives of those who I interact with. Help me to be sensitive to your leading, ready to act upon your call and willing to sacrifice for the sake of those you love".

Thanks for travelling with me during this time. Thank you for your prayers and support.
